It’s time to up your snack game! When you’re crunched for time or on the go, give one of these perfectly satisfying and nutritious snacks a try.
Fair warning: my prerequisites for a snack are 1) filling 2) provide energy. That means almost all of my snacks include some kind of nut butter, because they are #onpoint when it comes to keeping you satisfied. This also means my snacks always contain carbohydrates, because they are the lifeblood of that energized feeling that we all love. Also- carbs are not the enemy, no matter what anyone on the Keto diet tries to tell you. #carbsarelife
GO MACRO BARS
These bars are the perfect combo of good-for-you ingredients and filling AF. Their ingredient lists feature wholesome, plant-based ingredients with no additives, preservatives, sugar alcohols, or artificial sweeteners. Basically everything you could want in a snack bar. #AMAZING.
They have a 11 different kinds to choose from- although the Sunny Uplift (cherries + berries) is my current fave. Get them here.
NUT BUTTER + BANANA
Get back to basics with a banana and schmear of your favorite nut butter. Bananas may be basic, but they’re one of the best quick-and-easy snacks out there. Plus, they’re filled with tons of nutrients and are excellent at helping to reduce bloating.
PB ENERGY BITES
This snack requires a little effort (by effort I mean 10-15 minutes, no baking required), but it is definitely worth your time. Whip up a batch of these on Sunday, store them in the fridge, and snack on them all week. Get the recipe here.
ROASTED, UNSALTED ALMONDS + APPLE
Grab a handful of almonds and SNACK! Once you switch to eating them unsalted, you’ll never go back to salted. They’re seriously SO SALTY- you just never notice it when you haven’t had unsalted before. I prefer roasted, unsalted almonds because of the satisfying crunch, but raw, unsalted are just as good.
Add to the mix an antioxidant-filled apple and you’ve got yourself a power snack.
SLICED APPLE + NUT BUTTER + GRANOLA
Speaking of apples- slice one up and top it with nut butter and a bit of granola for the perfect sweet-and-salty snack combo. It doesn’t get much better than protein, antioxidants, and a sweet crunch.
